I had awesome productivity writing on my dissertation. In the evening I went to 상모 sangmo class. We had a really awesome class, today. It was just three students and 이종휘 Yi Jonghui attended as in the last two weeks by his girlfriend, 주리 Juri. I talked with them about the writing I'd been doing during the day, Jonghui gave me a little additional insight. In class we worked on transitions from one step to the next without losing our spin, a very useful thing to work on, and we learned one new step, which although it gave me grief at first, I soon got down. I love sangmo!

I had 봉산탈춤 Bongsan Talchum in the evening—I got there early enough to take 현석 Hyeonseok to dinner. Class was very ordinary except 하연 Hayeon is taking a month off to rest her constantly hurt ankles. I interviewed 수미 Sumi during class. After class ended the dancers for the April 29th piece tried to memorize 박용철 Bak Yongcheol's choreography. I find the large amount of energy in the class that Bak is controlling now to be a bit worrisome—even though it's mostly confined to after class (or before and after) he has also brought in so many new people who look to him first.
